Symbols – love ’em, hate ’em?

They can be incredibly useful in consecutive note-taking, but when I talk to interpreters, they often mention symbols as a problem; either they feel they don’t use them enough, or they’re inconsistent, or they don’t know how to develop their own symbols.

Come along to this workshop to find out more about how you can use symbols effectively in your notes.

I’ll be leading the session. You can find out more about my background and experience here.

What I’ll cover

  • when symbols are useful – and when they’re not
  • where you can find symbols
  • how to develop your own symbols
  • guidelines for using symbols effectively
  • how to make your symbols consistent, yet versatile

Important points:

  • The session will be led in English. Interpreters of all A languages are welcome.
  • The workshop will last a maximum of 90 minutes. You will have access to the recording for 6 months.
  • The cost is €40.
